The ʻapapane is a small, crimson Hawaiian honeycreeper. It has bright red plumage, white undertail-coverts, and black primaries. These active singers feed on nectar from ʻōhiʻa flowers and play a vital role in pollination. They’re culturally significant and symbolize Hawaii’s unique biodiversity.

The 'Ōhi'a lehua tree, native to Hawaiʻi, is steeped in the Islands’ history and culture. Its gorgeous flowers come in various colors, from red to yellow and even white, inspiring local designers and artists. Legend has it that the 'Ōhi'a lehua flower was born from a love story, connecting it forever to the Hawaiian landscape and if you pick the tree's flower it will begin to rain because the two lovers are begin separated.

Our pottery features original designs by Kaua’i artist Joanna Carolan. Each piece is hand painted by our team, using lead free glazes and fired in solar-powered kilns. The Banana Patch art studio, in the small town of Hanapepe, is happy to contribute to keeping our Hawaiian islands green and beautiful!

*Each made-to-order piece is unique and will have slight variations in color and/or pattern from the pictures shown.
*For best care, we recommend hand washing and no microwave use.
