Our Hanapepe store interiorBanana Patch Studio's ceramic tiles, pottery, gifts, and fine art are designed and produced on the sunny west side of Kauai in Old Hanapepe town.  The studio is located in the beautifully restored Historic Chang Building (1926), which was once a bakery and pool hall.

Studio and Gallery in Old Hanapepe Town-Historic Chang BuildingBanana Patch Studio was started in 1991 by Joanna Carolan.  View Joanna Carolan's artwork. Initially a one-woman operation, Banana Patch Studio now employs over 20 artists all creating unique hand painted tiles and pottery.

Hand painted Hawaiian ceramic tilesThe studio's ceramic tiles,  trivets, wall plaques, clocks and pottery are all hand painted using lead-free glazes and are kiln fired to 1890°F.  Ceramic tiles come with a masonite backing and are ready to hang.  Upon request, tiles are available without backings so they can be set in kitchen or bathroom counters, walls or backsplashes.

Our products can also be found in the Kong Lung Store in Kilauea, Kauai and many other fine stores throughout Hawaii.

Our original and well known tiles "Mahalo for removing your shoes" can be seen on many Hawaiian lanais reflecting the tradition of removing your shoes before entering a Hawaiian home.

There is hardly a house in Hawaii where you will not see one of Banana Patch Studio's popular tiles.
